Our ultra-modern lecture and seminar rooms have fitted with latest multimedia technology including flat screen TVs, overhead projectors and interactive electronic boards with the necessary technology that allow remote access to live lectures.
COMPUTING AND IT
We provide all your computing needs while you're at Oakswood College This ranges from the provision of wi-fi throughout the Colleges, to access to specialist computer rooms and advanced research computing services.
We also offers all students comprehensive support, including:
- A service desk
- Free email accounts and file storage
- Free software, including Microsoft Office and McAfee antivirus protection
- Free IT training courses
Our conference hall has high quality sound equipment with ultramodern teaching facilities. The entire campus has a fibre optic broadband throughout the building.
LEARNING RESOURCE CENTRE
We have a learning resource centre with a good range of print and electronic publications and an Information Communication Technology (ICT) suite with high bandwidth internet access. Students can use these computers for as long as they are in the College to access our full range of online library resources, the Virtual Learning Environment and research information for their assignments.
VIRTUAL LEARNING ENVIRONMENT (VLE)
Our VLE provides a 24-hour access to a range of learning resources including lesson notes, handouts, links to additional learning resources, televised lectures and videos. It also provides access to announcements, College policies, updates on the courses and other relevant information about the College that directly affect your studies.
The Language Centre provides opportunities to all students wishing to take up or continue a language. Our Language Programme offers taught courses at various levels. We also run a popular conversation exchange scheme with native speakers, and conversation sessions for students to maintain their spoken ability.
FACILITIES FOR WORSHIP, CELEBRATION, AND MEDITATION
There are religion-specific places of worship in and around our campus for those following the Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim and Sikh faiths. A number of rooms are also made available by the College for its students, staff and authorised visitors with the primary purpose of providing a safe, clean and inclusive place for worship, celebration or meditation.
