Business and Strategic Management Qualifications

These are our core management qualifications which include progression to University degrees. They also provide progression from levels 3 to 7 and were developed with input from colleges, higher education institutions and sector skills councils.

Including a range of optional units at every level these qualifications allow centres and learners to specialise in different areas whilst using the mandatory units to develop core knowledge required by all managers.

LEVEL 3 BUSINESS

ATHE have two Level 3 Diplomas in Business; The ATHE Level 3 Diploma in Business which is a 60 credit qualification, and the ATHE Level 3 Diploma in Business and Management which is a 120 credit qualification.

Level 3 Diploma in Business

The ATHE Level 3 Diploma in Business is a 60 credit qualification and is the equivalent level to an A-Level or Access to HE qualification. It has been designed for learners who wish to progress to a business or management degree but may not have the traditional entry qualifications usually required.

Learners who complete this qualification can progress to study a variety of Bachelor's Degrees at a university such as our partner universities including The University of Northampton and The University of Bedfordshire. For more information, please visit our progression routes page.

The qualification provides learners with an introduction to the business environment as well as key academic, research and communication skills to support learners in their development.

This qualification is eligible for Advanced Learner Loans through the Skills Funding Agency in the 2016-2017 session.

Level 3

Business and Administrative Management Qualifications

ATHE Business and Administrative Management Qualifications are designed to provide learners with enhanced job prospects in a range of industries. There is a core selection of generic management subjects such as Human Resources, Marketing, Finance and Strategy and a wide selection of optional specialisms such as Ethics, Islamic Finance and European Business.

Level 4 Extended Diploma in Management

The ATHE Level 4 Extended Diploma in Management is a 120 credit size qualification and is the equivalent size and level to the 1st year of a Bachelor's degree. This qualification is designed to develop your understanding of management and to develop key management skills.

Who this qualification is for?

Learners who are seeking to progress to higher education to take a Bachelor's degree course in an area of management.

What does the qualification progress to?

Learners who complete this qualification can progress to the ATHE Level 5 Extended Diploma in Management which provides entry to the third year of a variety of Bachelor's Degree Top-Up Programmes at a university such as our partner universities including Anglia Ruskin University, London School of Business and Management, University of Bolton, Coventry University and Southampton Solent University.

Learners who complete this qualification can progress onto an MBA programme at a university such as our partner university University of Bolton, or onto the ATHE Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and further progress onto an MBA Top-Up Programmes at a university such as our partner universities including Cardiff Metropolitan University, University of Gloucestershire,

Northampton University, University of Bolton and University of Sunderland.

The ATHE Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management provides much of the underpinning knowledge and understanding for the National Occupational Standards in Management and Leadership and is also recognised by a variety of UK universities for progression to their MBA top-up.

The Level 5 Diploma in Business and Administrative Management is a 120 credit size qualification, equivalent in size and level to the second year of a bachelor's degree.

At level 5, learners are expected to understand the more strategic aspects of business administration as well as governance structure and organisational context. Learners must achieve a minimum of 120 credits to achieve the qualification. They must complete the nine mandatory units, worth 100 credits and two optional units worth a minimum of 20 credits.
